CARING FOR YOUR FLOOR
Laminate floors are designed with durability in mind. With a little care and maintenance, you will be able to enjoy that ‘new floor feeling’ for years to come.
Follow this simple four step process to keep your laminate flooring looking clean and well maintained long after it has been fit.
1. Protect the surface
Add protective felt feet to your furniture. Included in our Aftercare Kits, they help reduce the risk of scratching your floor. Try increasing the contact area between your furniture and floor to spread the weight, which will also help to reduce the risk of dents.
2. Remove dust and dirt
Regularly vacuum (switch off the beater bar to avoid scratching) or sweep up grit and dust with a soft broom or dry microfiber mop/cloth. Take off heavy outdoor shoes and remove any wet or dirty footwear before walking on the floor. Quickly wipe up any spilled liquids and avoid any standing water.
3. Wash and brush up
We advise you to clean your floor 1 to 2 times per month. Use water sparingly. Cleaning too often or using too much water is unnecessary and could even permanently damage your floor. It is extremely important that surplus liquid is not left standing on the floor in any circumstances. Always use a clean microfiber cloth and a suitable floor cleaner, such as the ones we sell in the shop.
